A Message From Our President

MANIFESTO

It is with great honour and pleasure that I address the reader with our views on the future of the UCL Spanish and Latin American Society. Established over a decade ago, this society was built on the premise of being a welcoming place for Spanish-speaking students across the globe: promoting Hispanic culture and heritage as well as connecting with other vernacular communities and anyone interested in immersing themselves in our traditions and language.

All of this has constructed a close-knit community that over the years has welcomed and guided many students throughout university. Genuinely proud and firmly driven by these values and principles, this upcoming year I have constructed a highly ambitious team that will continue to deliver, but also enhance into what the society can really offer to its members. Be prepared for a multitude of events and fiestas, a polished academic journal as well as rigorously designed Spanish-speaking classes and virtual learning facilities among others.

I hope new and existing students become as passionate as we are about this project and contribute in making this journey memorable and exciting. In the words of the modern singer Quevedo, also a poet for many, and what is becoming a prominent Spanish-Speaking mantra, there is only one thing left to say: ¡Quéeedate!
